1Sha'ul, and Silvanus, and Timotheos: to the kehillah (assembly) of the Thessalonians in Elohim Avinu (God the Father), and in Adon Yeshua HaMashiach. 2Chesed (grace) to you and shalom. We give thanks to Elohim always for you all, making remembrance of you in our tefillot (prayers) without ceasing, 3Being mindful of the work of your emunah (faith), and labor of ahavah (love), and endurance of the tikvah (hope) in Adon Yeshua HaMashiach before Elohim Avinu (God Our Father). 4Knowing, achim beloved of Elohim, your election. 5For our Besorah (Good News) did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Ruach HaKodesh, and in much fullness, as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6And you became imitators of us and of Adon, receiving the word in much tribulation, with simchah (joy) of the Ruach HaKodesh, 7So that you became a pattern to all who believe in Makedonia and in Achaia. 8For from you the word of Adon has sounded forth, not only in Makedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your emunah toward Elohim has gone out, so that we need not say anything. 9For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entrance we had to you, and how you turned to Elohim from idols to serve the living and true Elohim, 10And to wait for His Son from the shamayim (heavens), whom He raised from the dead—Yeshua, who delivers us from the coming wrath.

1For you yourselves know, achim (brothers), our coming to you was not in vain. 2But having suffered before and been shamefully treated at Philippi (as you know), we had boldness in our Elohim to declare to you the Besorah (Good News) of Elohim in much struggle. 3For our exhortation was not from error, nor from uncleanness, nor in deceit. 4But as we were approved by Elohim to be entrusted with the Besorah, so we speak—not as pleasing men, but Elohim, who tests our levavot (hearts). 5For neither at any time did we use words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness—Elohim is witness. 6Nor did we seek kavod (glory) from men, neither from you nor from others, though we might have been burdensome as shlichim (apostles) of Mashiach. 7But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her children. 8So, longing for you, we were pleased to impart to you not only the Besorah of Elohim but also our own nefeshot (souls), because you had become beloved to us. 9For you remember, achim, our labor and toil; working night and day so as not to be a burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the Besorah of Elohim. 10You are witnesses, and Elohim also, how devoutly and justly and blamelessly we behaved toward you who believe. 11As you know, we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father does his children, 12That you would walk worthy of Elohim, who calls you into His malchut (kingdom) and kavod (glory). 13For this reason we also give thanks to Elohim without ceasing, because when you received the word of hearing from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it truly is—the word of Elohim, which works effectively in you who believe. 14For you, achim, became imitators of the kehillot (assemblies) of Elohim which are in Yehudah in Mashiach Yeshua. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Yehudim (Jews), 15Who killed Adon Yeshua, and the nevi’im (prophets), and persecuted us; they do not please Elohim and are hostile to all men, 16Forbidding us to speak to the Goyim (Gentiles) that they might be saved, so as always to fill up their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost. 17But we, achim, being torn away from you for a short time—in presence, not in heart—endeavored more eagerly with great desire to see your face. 18Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Sha'ul, time and again—but Satan hindered us. 19For what is our tikvah (hope), or simchah (joy), or crown of boasting? Is it not even you in the presence of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach at His coming? 20For you are our kavod (glory) and simchah.

1Therefore, when we could bear it no longer, we thought it good to remain at Athens alone. 2And we sent Timotheos, our ach (brother) and a shamash (minister) of Elohim in the Besorah (Good News) of Mashiach, to strengthen you and encourage you concerning your emunah (faith), 3That no one should be shaken by these tribulations; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this. 4For even when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we would suffer tribulations, just as it came to pass, and you know. 5For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to know about your emunah, lest somehow the one who tempts had tempted you, and our labor might be in vain. 6But now Timotheos has come to us from you, and has brought us good news of your emunah and ahavah (love), and that you always have good remembrance of us, longing to see us, just as we also long to see you. 7Therefore, achim (brothers), in all our distress and affliction we were comforted concerning you by your emunah. 8For now we live, if you stand firm in Adon. 9For what thanksgiving can we render to Elohim for you, for all the simchah (joy) with which we rejoice because of you before our Elohim, 10Night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face and perfect what is lacking in your emunah. 11Now may Elohim Himself, Avinu (our Father), and Adon Yeshua HaMashiach, direct our way to you. 12And may Adon make you increase and abound in ahavah toward one another and toward all, just as we do toward you, 13To establish your levavot (hearts) blameless in kedushah (holiness) before Elohim Avinu at the coming of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach with all His kedoshim (saints). Amen.

1For the rest then, achim (brothers), we urge and beseech you in Adon Yeshua, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please Elohim, so you should walk, that you may abound more and more. 2For you know what mitzvot (precepts) we gave you through Adon Yeshua. 3For this is the ratzon (will) of Elohim—your kedushah (sanctification): that you should abstain from fornication, 4That each of you should know how to possess his vessel in kedushah and honor, 5Not in lustful passion, like the Goyim (Gentiles) who do not know Elohim, 6And that no one transgress or defraud his ach (brother) in this matter, because Adon is the avenger of all these things, as we told you before and testified. 7For Elohim has not called us to uncleanness, but to kedushah. 8Therefore, he who rejects this does not reject man, but Elohim, who has also given His Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to us. 9But concerning ahavat achim (brotherly love), you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by Elohim to love one another. 10And indeed you do so toward all the achim in all Makedonia. But we urge you, achim, to abound more and more, 11And to aspire to live quietly, to do your own work, and to labor with your own hands, as we commanded you, 12That you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing. 13But we do not want you to be ignorant, achim, concerning those who are asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no tikvah (hope). 14For if we believe that Yeshua died and rose again, even so Elohim will bring with Him those who sleep in Yeshua. 15For this we say to you by the word of Adon, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of Adon shall by no means precede those who are asleep. 16For Adon Himself will descend from the shamayim (heavens) with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the shofar (trumpet) of Elohim; and the dead in Mashiach shall rise first. 17Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet Adon in the air. And thus we shall always be with Adon. 18Therefore, comfort one another with these words.

1But concerning the times and seasons, achim (brothers), you have no need that I should write to you. 2For you yourselves know perfectly that the Yom of Adon (Day of the Lord) comes as a thief in the night. 3For when they say, “Shalom and security,” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape. 4But you, achim, are not in choshech (darkness), so that this day should overtake you as a thief. 5For you are all bnei ha’or (children of light) and bnei ha’yom (children of the day). We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. 8But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of emunah (faith) and ahavah (love), and as a helmet the tikvah (hope) of yeshuah (salvation). 9For Elohim has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain yeshuah through Adon Yeshua HaMashiach, 10Who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. 11Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 12And we urge you, achim, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in Adon, and admonish you, 13And to esteem them very highly in ahavah because of their work. Be at shalom among yourselves. 14And we exhort you, achim: warn the unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. 15See that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for one another and for all. 16Rejoice always. 17Pray without ceasing. 18In everything give thanks, for this is the ratzon (will) of Elohim in Mashiach Yeshua for you. 19Do not quench the Ruach (Spirit). 20Do not despise nevu’ot (prophecies). 21Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22Abstain from every form of evil. 23Now may the Elohim of shalom Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole ruach (spirit), nefesh (soul), and guf (body) be preserved blameless at the coming of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach. 24Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it. 25Achim, pray for us. 26Greet all the achim with a holy kiss. 27I charge you by Adon that this iggeret (epistle) be read to all the kedoshim (holy brethren). 28The chesed (grace) of Adon Yeshua HaMashiach be with you.
