Introduction

Introduction to Igeret Yochanan Sheniyah (The Second Letter of John)

Within the Framework of the Ivri Heritage Bible

The text presented here is an authentic rendering of the second epistle of Yochanan, structurally designated within The Ivri Heritage Bible to serve as a critical prophetic, administrative, and ethical anchor for the assembly (Kehillah) awaiting the righteous Mishpat (judgment) of the Most High. Written by the Zaken (elder) to the elect lady and her children, this book sets forth an uncompromising covenantal blueprint for the defense of the set-apart household. Delivered as an urgent warning against theological infiltration and a strict code for spiritual boundaries, these thirteen verses transform daily home assembly dynamics, domestic hospitality, and corporate vigilance into a strict, unified, and priestly constitution.

Textual Methodology: Restoring the Ancient Path

As a foundational text within The Ivri Heritage Bible, this edition of Igeret Yochanan Sheniyah utilizes a meticulous comparative textual methodology designed to strip away centuries of Western, Greco-Roman, and Eurocentric theological varnish, restoring the original Lashon Khodesh (Holy Tongue) concepts directly to the text.

The Authority of Family-Centric Apostolic Preservation

While standard Western translations read this epistle as a generic letter, this translation restores its weight as an authoritative judicial decree protecting the elect lady—representing both the sanctified maternal household and the localized corporate assembly. The Zaken establishes his counsel upon the permanence of the truth, aligning his warnings with the uncorrupted patriarchal structures, protective domestic walls, and covenantal frameworks found throughout the broader Ivri Heritage collection.

Core Theological Themes and Structural Blueprint

The layout of the second letter of Yochanan forms a complete mathematical, ethical, and administrative manual for a set-apart society. Within this edition, the text is organized around four major spiritual and administrative pillars:

1. The Triune Blessing and Children of the Emet (Verses 1–4)

The book opens with a majestic patriarchal affirmation of the household of the elect lady, celebrating that her children are actively walking in the Emet.

2. The Ancient Definition of Love and Obedience (Verses 5–6)

The text transitions into a foundational behavioral code, dismantling any abstract or emotionalized definition of righteousness.

3. The Test of the Flesh and the Danger of Transgression (Verses 7–9)

The narrative shifts to an intense defensive alert, revealing that many deceivers have entered into the olam (world).

4. Domestic Quarantine, Contamination, and Face-to-Face Accountability (Verses 10–13) The text culminates in a severe operational directive for household protection and final verification, instituting a strict domestic quarantine against unauthorized teachers.

1The Zaken (elder) unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the Emet (truth); and not I only, but also all they that have known the Emet ; 2For the Emet ’s sake, which dwells in us, and shall be with us le’olam (for ever). 3Chesed (Grace) be with you, rachamim (mercy), and shalom (peace), from Elohim ha’Av (God the Father), and from Ha’Adon Yeshua ha’Mashiach (the Lord Jesus Christ), the Ben ha’Av (Son of the Father), in Emet and Ahavah (love). 4I rejoiced greatly that I found of your children walking in Emet , as we have received a mitzvah (commandment) from ha’Av . 5And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new mitzvah unto you, but that which we had from the reshit (beginning), that we love one another. 6And this is Ahavah , that we walk after His mitzvot . This is the mitzvah : that, as you have heard from the reshit , you should walk in it. 7For many deceivers are entered into the olam (world), who confess not that Yeshua ha’Mashiach is come in the basar (flesh). This is a deceiver and a Mashiach ha’Sheker (Antichrist). 8Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9Whosoever transgresses, and abides not in the teaching of Mashiach , has not Elohim . He that abides in the teaching of Mashiach , he has both ha’Av and ha’Ben . 10If there come any unto you, and bring not this teaching, receive him not into your house, neither bid him shalom ; 11for he that bids him shalom is partaker of his evil deeds. 12Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak peh el peh (face to face), that our simchah (joy) may be full. 13The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen .
