Mikah (Micah)

Introduction

Introduction to Mikhah (The Book of Micah)

Within the Framework of The Ivri Heritage Bible

The prophetic document presented here, titled Mikhah (מִיכָה — Who is like Yahuah?) and traditionally recognized as the Book of Micah, stands as a brilliant, forensic indictment against structural injustice, corrupt leadership, and the distortion of true worship within the multi-volume architecture of The Ivri Heritage Bible. Operating as a direct contemporary to Isaiah, Mikhah of Morashti delivers an uncompromised warning that bridges the impending historical falls of Samaria and Jerusalem with the ultimate eschatological restoration of Israel in the final days.

Transmitted in this edition through a rigorous Hebraized linguistic framework, the text reflects the explicit source file "MICAH (Mikhah)". By stripping away conventional Western and Hellenized titles, it recovers the authentic covenantal terminology, legal metaphors, and geographical focus preserved by the first-century Netzarim community.

Textual Methodology: Restoring Sacred Names and the Hebraic Lexicon

An essential hallmark of The Ivri Heritage Bible is the systematically restored vocabulary that re- establishes the cultural and judicial environment of the text:  The Divine Names and Titles: The supreme covenantal designation Yahuah (יְהוָה) is restored alongside Adonai Elohim (אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהִים — Lord God), Elohai (אֱלֹהַי — my God), and the title of ultimate sovereign power, Yahuah Tzeva'ot (יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת — the Lord Almighty). The short form El (אֵל) is explicitly highlighted at the narrative's conclusion to draw out the linguistic meaning of the prophet's own name.  The Liturgical and Legal Lexicon: Precise Hebraic terms replace generic concepts to maintain theological accuracy. Rebel actions are categorized as pesha (פֶּשַׁע — transgression / rebellion), avon (עָוֹן — iniquity), and chataot (חַטָּאוֹת — sins). True governance is framed through mishpat (מִשְׁפָּט — judgment / justice) and tzedakah (צְדָקָה — righteousness), while the ultimate sign of covenant loyalty is rendered as chesed (חֶסֶד — mercy / lovingkindness). Divine presence and spiritual empowerment are attributed directly to the Ruach (רוּחַ — Spirit) of Yahuah.  Topography and Geopolitical Tracking: Original regional identifiers are preserved, featuring Shomron (שֹׁמְרוֹן — Samaria), Yerushalayim (יְרוּשָׁלַיִם), Yehudah (יְהוּדָה), Har Tziyon (הַר צִיּוֹן — Mount Sion), Beit-Lechem (בֵּית לֶחֶם — Bethlehem) of Efrat (אֶפְרָתָה), Mitzrayim (מִצְרַיִם — Egypt), and adversarial realms like Bavel (בָּבֶל — Babylon) and Ashur (Assyria).

Prophetic Architecture and Critical Narrative Themes

The book of Mikhah is structurally balanced between devastating verdicts of judgment and soaring promises of messianic restoration. It moves systematically through three great prophetic discourses.

1. The Cosmic Courtroom and Woe to Corporate Oppressors (Chapters 1–2)

The text opens with a sweeping, universal summons. Yahuah comes forth out of His holy Mishkan (habitation), stepping upon the high places of the aretz (earth) with such power that mountains melt like wax before a fire. This cosmic descent is not a generic display of power, but a targeted testimony against the pesha of Ya'akov and the house of Yisrael. The capital cities, Shomron and Yerushalayim, are identified as the epicenters of this rebellion. Shomron is sentenced to have her stones demolished into valleys, her foundations exposed, and her idols—amassed through spiritual and literal fornication—shattered and burned. The plague is declared so grievous that it reaches the very gates of Yerushalayim, demanding that the daughter of Tziyon shave her head in mourning as her children go into golah (captivity).

Chapter 2 isolates the root cause of this social decay: a predatory elite who plot wickedness on their beds and execute it by daylight simply because they hold the power to do so. They plunder sadot (fields), seize houses, and exploit orphans and families, stealing a man's nachalah (inheritance). When true prophets speak, the corrupt elite attempt to silence them, provoking the Ruach of Yahuah. Consequently, Yahuah measures out their land to invaders, declaring that this realm is no longer their rest because of its absolute uncleanness. Yet, the section ends with an abrupt glimpse of hope: a promise that the she'erit (remnant) of Yisrael will be dynamically gathered like sheep in a fold, breaking through a breach with their melech (king) marching out before them, led by Yahuah.

2. Condemnation of the Ruling Elite and the Glories of the Last Days (Chapters 3–5) In Chapter 3, Mikhah delivers one of the most severe indictments against leadership found in ancient literature. He addresses the civil heads, greedy kohanim (priests), and false neviim (prophets) who "hate good, and seek evil". He describes their economic exploitation using graphic imagery of cannibalism: they flay the skin off the people, break their bones, and chop them up like meat for the caldron. The prophets declare shalom only when they are fed, but wage war against anyone who puts nothing into their mouths. Because they build up Tziyon with dam (blood) and judge for bribes, Yahuah cuts off their spiritual vision, plunging them into night and darkness. In stark contrast, Mikhah declares himself fully strengthened by the Ruach of Yahuah, by mishpat, and by power to expose Yisrael’s sin. Because of this widespread corruption, the historic decree is given: Tziyon shall be ploughed as a field and Yerushalayim reduced to a storehouse of fruits.

The narrative immediately transitions into the glorious dawn of the acharit ha’yamim (אחרית הימים — the last days) in Chapter 4. The mountain of Yahuah's house will be visibly established on the tops of the mountains, and nations will stream to it, crying: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahuah... for out of Tziyon shall go forth Torah, and the word of Yahuah from Yerushalayim." Yahuah will arbitrate global disputes, causing nations to beat their cherev (swords) into ploughshares and study war no more. Though the daughter of Tziyon must first undergo birth pangs, go forth into the open plain, and endure captivity in Bavel, Yahuah promises to redeem her there, making her horns iron and her hoofs brass to thresh her gathered enemies.

Chapter 5 introduces the mechanism of this global victory: the advent of the Messiah. Though Beit- Lechem Efrat is small among the clans of Yehudah, out of it will come forth the Ruler of Yisrael, whose goings forth are from kedem (eternity). He will stand and feed his flock in the kavod (glory) of the Name of Yahuah. The she'erit of Ya'akov will be dispersed among the goyim (nations) in two distinct capacities: acting softly like refreshing tal (dew) from Yahuah, yet standing fiercely as a lion among flocks of sheep against those who resist. Yahuah promises to purge His people of carnal dependencies—cutting off horses, chariots, strongholds, sorceries, and graven images—so they never again worship the works of human hands.

3. The Covenant Lawsuit and the Triumph of Sovereign Mercy (Chapters 6–7)

The final discourse in Chapter 6 frames Yahuah's controversy as a formal covenant lawsuit, calling upon the permanent mountains and hills to act as the jury. Yahuah asks His people how He has ever burdened them, reminding them of their redemption from Mitzrayim under Moshe, Aharon, and Miryam, and how He overturned the curses of Balak and Bil’am.

The text addresses the futile human attempt to satisfy God through excessive external rituals, asking if Yahuah wants thousands of rams, ten thousands of rivers of oil, or even the sacrifice of a first-born child for personal transgression. The enduring answer cuts to the heart of true biblical faith: "Has it not been told thee, O ish, what is good? or what does Yahuah require of thee, but to do mishpat, and love chesed, and be ready to walk with Yahuah thy Elohim?" Because the city continues to use fraudulent weights, hoard wicked treasures, and keep the corrupt statutes of Zimri and Ach'av, Yahuah sentences them to agricultural failure, scarcity, and desolation.

The final chapter begins with a solitary lament. The prophet looks across the land and finds total moral bankruptcy: the chasid (godly person) has perished, princes demand bribes, judges look for rewards, and domestic trust has completely shattered to the point where a man's enemies are those of his own household. Yet, the text shifts from lamentation to absolute confidence: "But I will look to Yahuah; I will wait upon Elohai... though I should sit in choshech (darkness), Yahuah shall be a or (light) to me." The book of Mikhah concludes with a triumphant hymn of praise celebrating the unique character of the Almighty. It highlights the meaning of the prophet's name, asking: "Who is an El like Thee?" He is the one who cancels avonot (iniquities), passes over the sins of the she'erit of His inheritance, and casts all their chataot into the deepest depths of the sea because He delights in chesed. The book closes with an ironclad assurance that Yahuah will perform the truth to Ya'akov and the mercy to Avraham that He swore to the ancestors from days of old.

An Enduring Standard for the Remnant

Within The Ivri Heritage Bible, the Book of Mikhah functions as an essential ethical compass and an eschatological anchor for the scattered community. It shatters the illusion that ritual compliance can substitute for systemic justice, while providing an unshakeable guarantee that the Torah will ultimately go forth from Zion to establish global peace. As you read these restored chapters from "MICAH (Mikhah)", let the Ruach of Yahuah realign your walk, empower your commitment to mishpat, and anchor your soul in the enduring chesed of the King who pardons iniquity and restores the remnant of His heritage.

Mikah (Micah)Chapter 1

The Word of Yahuah Against Shomron and Yerushalayim
1.0×
1And the word of Yahuah came to Mikhah (Micah) the son of Morashti (Morasthi), in the days of Yotam (Joatham), and Achaz, and Chizkiyahu (Ezekias), kings of Yehudah (Juda), concerning what he saw regarding Shomron (Samaria) and Yerushalayim (Jerusalem). 2Hear these words, ye people; and let the aretz (earth) give heed, and all that are in it: and Adonai Elohim shall be among you for a testimony, Yahuah out of His holy habitation. 3For, behold, Yahuah comes forth out of His place, and will come down, and will go upon the high places of the aretz. 4And the mountains shall be shaken under Him, and the valleys shall melt like wax before the fire, and as water rushing down a declivity. 5All these calamities are for the transgression of Ya’akov (Jacob), and for the sin of the house of Yisrael (Israel). What is the transgression of Ya’akov? is it not Shomron? and what is the sin of the house of Yehudah? is it not Yerushalayim? 6Therefore I will make Shomron as a store-house of the fruits of the field, and as a planting of a vineyard: and I will utterly demolish her stones, and I will expose her foundations. 7And they shall cut in pieces all the graven images, and all that she has hired they shall burn with fire, and I will utterly destroy all her idols: because she has gathered of the hires of fornication, and of the hires of fornication has she amassed wealth. 8Therefore shall she lament and wail, she shall go barefooted, and being naked she shall make lamentation as that of serpents, and mourning as of the daughters of sirens. 9For her plague has become grievous; for it has come even to Yehudah; and has reached to the gate of my people, even to Yerushalayim. 10Ye that are in Gath (Geth), exalt not yourselves, and ye Enakim (the Enakim), do not rebuild from the ruins of the house in derision: sprinkle dust in the place of your laughter. 11The inhabitant of Shen’ar (Sennaar), fairly inhabiting her cities, came not forth to mourn for the house next to her: she shall receive of you the stroke of grief. 12Who has begun to act for good to her that dwells in sorrow? for calamities have come down from Yahuah upon the gates of Yerushalayim, 13even a sound of chariots and horsemen: the inhabitants of Lachish (Lachis), she is the leader of sin to the daughter of Tziyon (Sion): for in thee were found the transgressions of Yisrael. 14Therefore shall he cause men to be sent forth as far as the inheritance of Gath, even vain houses; they are become vanity to the kings of Yisrael; 15until they bring the heirs, O inhabitant of Lachish: the inheritance shall reach to Adullam (Odollam), even the glory of the daughter of Yisrael. 16Shave thine hair, and make thyself bald for thy delicate children; increase thy widowhood as an eagle; for thy people are gone into captivity from thee.

Mikah (Micah)Chapter 2

Woe to the Oppressors and the Promise of Ingathering
1.0×
1They meditated troubles, and wrought wickedness on their beds, and they put it in execution with the daylight; for they have not lifted up their hands to Elohim. 2And they desired fields, and plundered orphans, and oppressed families, and spoiled a man and his house, even a man and his inheritance. 3Therefore thus saith Yahuah; Behold, I devise evils against this family, out of which ye shall not lift up your necks, neither shall ye walk upright speedily: for the time is evil. 4In that day shall a parable be taken up against you, and a plaintive lamentation shall be uttered, saying, We are thoroughly miserable: the portion of my people has been measured out with a line, and there was none to hinder him so as to turn him back; your fields have been divided. 5Therefore thou shalt have no one to cast a line for the lot. 6Weep not with tears in the assembly of Yahuah, neither let any weep for these things; for he shall not remove the reproaches, 7who says, The house of Ya’akov has provoked the Ruach (Spirit) of Yahuah; are not these his practices? Are not Yahuah’s words right with him? and have they not proceeded correctly? 8Even beforetime my people withstood him as an enemy against his peace; they have stripped off his skin to remove hope in the conflict of war. 9The leaders of my people shall be cast forth from their luxurious houses; they are rejected because of their evil practices; draw ye near to the everlasting mountains. 10Arise thou, and depart; for this is not thy rest because of uncleanness: ye have been utterly destroyed; 11ye have fled, no one pursuing you: thy spirit has framed falsehood, it has dropped on thee for wine and strong drink. But it shall come to pass, that out of the dropping of this people, 12Ya’akov shall be completely gathered with all his people: I will surely receive the remnant of Yisrael; I will cause them to return together, as sheep in trouble, as a flock in the midst of their fold: they shall rush forth from among men through the breach made before them: 13they have broken through, and passed the gate, and gone out by it: and their king has gone out before them, and Yahuah shall lead them.

Mikah (Micah)Chapter 3

Judgment on Leaders, Prophets, and the Fall of Tziyon
1.0×
1And he shall say, Hear now these words, ye heads of the house of Ya’akov, and ye remnant of the house of Yisrael; is it not for you to know mishpat (judgment)? 2who hate good, and seek evil; who tear their skins off them, and their flesh off their bones: 3even as they devoured the flesh of my people, and stripped their skins off them, and broke their bones, and divided them as flesh for the caldron, and as meat for the pot, 4thus they shall cry to Yahuah, but He shall not hearken to them; and He shall turn away His face from them at that time, because they have done wickedly in their practices against themselves. 5Thus saith Yahuah concerning the prophets that lead my people astray, that bite with their teeth, and proclaim shalom (peace) to them; and when nothing was put into their mouth, they raised up war against them: 6therefore there shall be night to you instead of a vision, and there shall be to you darkness instead of prophecy; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be dark upon them. 7And the seers of night-visions shall be ashamed, and the prophets shall be laughed to scorn: and all the people shall speak against them, because there shall be none to hearken to them. 8Surely I will strengthen myself with the Ruach (Spirit) of Yahuah, and of mishpat, and of power, to declare to Ya’akov his transgressions, and to Yisrael his sins. 9Hear now these words, ye chiefs of the house of Ya’akov, and the remnant of the house of Yisrael, who hate mishpat, and pervert all righteousness; 10who build up Tziyon with blood, and Yerushalayim with iniquity. 11The heads thereof have judged for gifts, and the priests thereof have answered for hire, and her prophets have divined for silver: and yet they have rested on Yahuah, saying, Is not Yahuah among us? no evil shall come upon us. 12Therefore on your account Tziyon shall be ploughed as a field, and Yerushalayim shall be as a storehouse of fruits, and the mountain of the house as a grove of the forest.

Mikah (Micah)Chapter 4

The Exalted Mountain, the Ingathering, and the Triumph of Tziyon
1.0×
1And at the acharit ha’yamim (last days) the mountain of Yahuah shall be manifest, established on the tops of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and the peoples shall hasten to it. 2And many nations shall go, and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahuah, and to the house of the Elohim of Ya’akov; and they shall shew us His way, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Tziyon shall go forth Torah (law), and the word of Yahuah from Yerushalayim. 3And He shall judge among many peoples, and shall rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into sickles; and nation shall no more lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn to war any more. 4And every one shall rest under his vine, and every one under his fig-tree; and there shall be none to alarm them: for the mouth of Yahuah Tzeva'ot (the Lord Almighty) has spoken these words. 5For all other nations shall walk every one in his own way, but we will walk in the Shem (Name) of Yahuah our Elohim for ever and ever. 6In that day, saith Yahuah, I will gather her that is bruised, and will receive her that is cast out, and those whom I rejected. 7And I will make her that was bruised a remnant, and her that was rejected a mighty nation: and Yahuah shall reign over them in Har Tziyon (mount Sion) from henceforth, even le’olam (for ever). 8And thou, dark tower of the flock, daughter of Tziyon, on thee the dominion shall come and enter in, even the first kingdom from Bavel (Babylon) to the daughter of Yerushalayim. 9And now, why hast thou known calamities? was there not a king to thee? or has thy counsel perished that pangs as of a woman in travail have seized upon thee? 10Be in pain, and strengthen thyself, and draw near, O daughter of Tziyon, as a woman in travail: for now thou shalt go forth out of the city, and shalt lodge in the plain, and shalt reach even to Bavel: thence shall Yahuah thy Elohim deliver thee, and thence shall He redeem thee out of the hand of thine enemies. 11And now have many nations gathered against thee, saying, We will rejoice, and our eyes shall look upon Tziyon. 12But they know not the thought of Yahuah, and have not understood His counsel: for He has gathered them as sheaves of the floor. 13Arise, and thresh them, O daughter of Tziyon: for I will make thine horns iron, and I will make thine hoofs brass: and thou shalt utterly destroy many nations, and shalt consecrate their abundance to Yahuah, and their strength to Adonai of all the aretz.

Mikah (Micah)Chapter 5

The Ruler from Eternity, the Remnant, and the Cleansing of the Nations
1.0×
1Now shall the daughter of Tziyon be completely hedged in: he has laid siege against us: they shall smite the tribes of Yisrael with a rod upon the cheek. 2And thou, Beit-Lechem (Bethleem), house of Efrat (Ephratha), art few in number to be reckoned among the thousands of Yehudah; yet out of thee shall one come forth to Me, to be a ruler of Yisrael; and his goings forth were from the beginning, even from kedem (eternity). 3Therefore shall he appoint them to wait till the time of her that travails: she shall bring forth, and then the remnant of their brethren shall return to the children of Yisrael. 4And Yahuah shall stand, and see, and feed His flock with power, and they shall dwell in the kavod (glory) of the Shem of Yahuah their Elohim: for now shall they be magnified to the ends of the aretz. 5And she shall have shalom (peace) when Ashur (Assur) shall come into your land, and when he shall come up upon your country; and there shall be raised up against him seven shepherds, and eight attacks of men. 6And they shall tend the Assyrian with a sword, and the land of Nimrod (Nebrod) with her trench: and He shall deliver you from the Assyrian, when he shall come upon your land, and when he shall invade your coasts. 7And the remnant of Ya’akov shall be among the goyim (Gentiles) in the midst of many peoples, as dew falling from Yahuah, and as lambs on the grass; that none may assemble nor resist among the sons of men. 8And the remnant of Ya’akov shall be among the goyim in the midst of many nations, as a lion in the forest among cattle, and as a lion's whelp among flocks of sheep, even as when he goes through, and selects, and carries off his prey, and there is none to deliver. 9Thine hand shall be lifted up against them that afflict thee, and all thine enemies shall be utterly destroyed. 10And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Yahuah, that I will utterly destroy the horses out of the midst of thee, and destroy thy chariots: 11and I will utterly destroy the cities of thy land, and demolish all thy strong-holds: 12and I will utterly destroy thy sorceries out of thine hands; and there shall be no soothsayers in thee. 13And I will utterly destroy thy graven images, and thy statues out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt never any more worship the works of thine hands. 14And I will cut off the groves out of the midst of thee, and I will abolish thy cities. 15And I will execute vengeance on the heathen in anger and wrath, because they hearkened not.

1Hear now a word: Yahuah has said; Arise, plead with the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. 2Hear ye, O mountains, the controversy of Yahuah, and ye valleys even the foundations of the aretz: for Yahuah has a controversy with His people, and will plead with Yisrael. 3O My people, what have I done to thee? or wherein have I grieved thee? or wherein have I troubled thee? answer Me. 4For I brought thee up out of the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt), and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage, and sent before thee Moshe (Moses), and Aharon (Aaron), and Miryam (Mariam). 5O My people, remember now, what counsel Balak (Balac) king of Moav (Moab) took against thee, and what Bil’am (Balaam) the son of Beor answered him, from the reeds to Gilgal (Galgal); that the righteousness of Yahuah might be known. 6Wherewithal shall I reach Yahuah, and lay hold of my Elohim most high? shall I reach Him by whole-burnt-offerings, by calves of a year old? 7Will Yahuah accept thousands of rams, or ten thousands of fat goats? should I give my first-born for ungodliness, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8Has it not been told thee, O man, what is good? or what does Yahuah require of thee, but to do mishpat (justice), and love chesed (mercy), and be ready to walk with Yahuah thy Elohim? 9Yahuah’s voice shall be proclaimed in the city, and He shall save those that fear His Shem: hear, O tribe; and who shall order the city? 10Is there not fire, and the house of the wicked heaping up wicked treasures, and that with the pride of unrighteousness? 11Shall the wicked be justified by the balance, or deceitful weights in the bag, 12whereby they have accumulated their ungodly wealth, and they that dwell in the city have uttered falsehoods, and their tongue has been exalted in their mouth? 13Therefore will I begin to smite thee; I will destroy thee in thy sins. 14Thou shalt eat, and shalt not be satisfied; and there shall be darkness upon thee; and he shall depart from thee, and thou shalt not escape; and all that shall escape shall be delivered over to the sword. 15Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt press the olive, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with oil; and shalt make wine, but ye shall drink no wine: and the ordinances of my people shall be utterly abolished. 16For thou hast kept the statutes of Zimri (Zambri), and done all the works of the house of Ach’av (Achaab); and ye have walked in their ways, that I might deliver thee to utter destruction, and those that inhabit the city to hissing: and ye shall bear the reproach of nations.

Mikah (Micah)Chapter 7

Lament, Hope, and the Final Plea for Mercy
1.0×
1Alas for me! for I am become as one gathering straw in harvest, and as one gathering grape-gleanings in the vintage, when there is no cluster for me to eat the first-ripe fruit: alas my soul! 2For the godly is perished from the earth; and there is none among men that orders his way aright: they all quarrel even to blood: they grievously afflict everyone his neighbour: 3they prepare their hands for mischief, the prince asks a reward, and the judge speaks flattering words; it is the desire of their soul: 4therefore I will take away their goods as a devouring moth, and as one who acts by a rigid rule in a day of visitation. Woe, woe, thy times of vengeance are come; now shall be their lamentations. 5Trust not in friends, and confide not in guides: beware of thy wife, so as not to commit anything to her. 6For the son dishonours his father, the daughter will rise up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: those in his house shall be all a man's enemies. 7But I will look to Yahuah; I will wait upon Elohai (God my Saviour): my Elohim will hearken to me. 8Rejoice not against me, mine enemy; for I have fallen yet shall arise; for though I should sit in darkness, Yahuah shall be a light to me. 9I will bear the indignation of Yahuah, because I have sinned against Him, until He make good my cause: He also shall maintain my right, and shall bring me out to the light, and I shall behold His tzedakah (righteousness). 10And she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shall clothe herself with shame, who says, Where is Yahuah thy Elohim? mine eyes shall look upon her: now shall she be for trampling as mire in the ways. 11It is the day of making of brick; that day shall be thine utter destruction, and that day shall utterly abolish thine ordinances. 12And thy cities shall be levelled, and parted among the Assyrians; and thy strong cities shall be parted from Tzor (Tyre) to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. 13And the land shall be utterly desolate together with them that inhabit it, because of the fruit of their doings. 14Tend Thy people with Thy rod, the sheep of Thine inheritance, those that inhabit by themselves the thicket in the midst of Karmel (Carmel): they shall feed in the land of Bashan (Basan), and in the land of Gil’ad (Galaad), as in the days of old. 15And according to the days of thy departure out of Mitzrayim shall ye see marvellous things. 16The nations shall see and be ashamed; and at all their might they shall lay their hands upon their mouth, their ears shall be deafened. 17They shall lick the dust as serpents crawling on the earth, they shall be confounded in their holes; they shall be amazed at Yahuah our Elohim, and will be afraid of thee. 18Who is an El like Thee, cancelling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of His inheritance? and He has not kept His anger for a testimony, for He delights in chesed (mercy). 19He will return and have mercy upon us; He will sink our iniquities, and they shall be cast into the depths of the sea, even all our sins. 20He shall give blessings truly to Ya’akov, and mercy to Avraham (Abraam), as Thou swarest to our fathers, according to the former days.
