Introduction to Igeret Yochanan Rishonah (The First Letter of John)

Within the Framework of the Ivri Heritage Bible

The text presented here is an authentic rendering of the first epistle of Yochanan, structurally designated within The Ivri Heritage Bible to serve as a critical prophetic, administrative, and ethical anchor for the assembly (Kehillah) awaiting the righteous Mishpat (judgment) of the Most High. Positioned as a direct, empirical eyewitness testimony to the physical manifestation of the Devar ha'Chayyim (Word of Life), this book sets forth a pristine covenantal blueprint. Delivered as an intimate pastoral address to the yeladim (little children), bachurim (young men), and avot (fathers), these five chapters transform primordial cosmic history, deep spiritual discernment, and the laws of community restoration into a strict, unified, and priestly constitution.

Textual Methodology: Restoring the Ancient Path

As an foundational text within The Ivri Heritage Bible, this edition of Igeret Yochanan Rishonah utilizes a meticulous comparative textual methodology designed to strip away centuries of Western, Greco- Roman, and Eurocentric theological varnish, restoring the original Lashon Khodesh (Holy Tongue) concepts directly to the text.

The Authority of Eyewitness Testimony and Ancient Textual Streams

While standard Western translations filter this dynamic letter through an abstract, Hellenistic philosophical lens, this translation anchors the text in its authentic, first-century Hebraic context. The writer uses intense sensory language—emphasizing what the eyes have seen, what the ears have heard, and what human hands have literally handled—to preserve an uncompromised, historical line against early deceptive teachers. This version aligns perfectly with the uncorrupted patriarchal chronologies, ancient witnesses, and covenantal frameworks found throughout the broader Ivri Heritage collection.

Correcting the Omissions and Truncations of Late Copyists

A primary reason The Ivri Heritage Bible prioritizes ancient witnesses and uncorrupted manuscript lines is to expose and correct historical alterations made to the text over centuries. In standard modern translations, late copyists often convoluted the original definitions of righteousness, sin, and the commandments. This text brings back to remembrance the absolute clarity of the pristine Israelite worldview: 1. The Strict Definition of Sin (Chet) — Where standard Western frameworks reduce sin to an abstract moral failing, this text explicitly restores the structural reality: "...for chet is the

Igeret Yochanan Rishonah (The First Letter of John)

2

transgression of the Torah (the Law)." To break the commandment is to step out from the light into total darkness. 2. The Primordial Origin of Evil — The letter bridges back to early cosmic history, reminding the reader that ha'Satan (the devil) has sinned systematically from the reshit (beginning), and exposes the fratricidal path of Kayin (Cain), who was directly under the influence of ha'Ra (the Evil One). 3. The Triune Heavenly and Earthly Record — Chapter 5 restores the uncompromised administrative blueprint of witness, detailing the three that bear record in Shamayim (the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit) and the matching three that bear witness on the aretz (the Spirit, the water, and the blood) agreeing in echad (one).

Hebraic Messianic Nazarene Wordings

While adhering to the layout of the ancient apostolic line, this translation completely eliminates Westernized, church-centric nomenclature. By implementing a strictly Hebraic Messianic Nazarene vocabulary, the narrative restores the original context directly to the reader. Artificial terms and Hellenized titles are completely discarded, replacing them with the true, restored names and terms:  Yeshua ha'Mashiach: Jesus the Messiah, manifested in the basar (flesh) as the true Ben Elohim (Son of God).  Ha'Av / Kadosh: The Father and the Holy One, who is Or (Light) without any choshech (darkness) at all.  Meliytz / Kapparah: The Righteous Advocate and the Propitiation who cleanses the assembly from all avon (unrighteousness).  Hitkhabrut / Mitzvot: Genuine corporate fellowship built exclusively upon the keeping of the commandments.

Core Theological Themes and Structural Blueprint

The layout of the first chapter through the fifth chapter forms a complete mathematical, ethical, and apocalyptic manual for a set-apart society. Within this edition, the text is organized around four major spiritual and administrative pillars:

1. The Manifestation of the Light and the Practice of Emet (Chapter 1)

The book opens with a majestic declaration of the Devar ha'Chayyim manifested from the reshit. Yochanan sets forth an absolute binary architecture: Elohim is Or, and in Him is no darkness at all. The

text issues a severe administrative warning against hypocrisy: anyone claiming hitkhabrut with Him while walking in choshech speaks a sheker (lie) and does not practice the Emet. Community restoration is mathematically mapped: true confession of chata’im prompts the faithful and tzaddik Creator to forgive and cleanse the assembly through the dam (blood) of Yeshua.

2. The Old Commandment and the Unmasking of Mashiach ha'Sheker (Chapter 2)

The text transitions into a manual of obedience and an apocalyptic warning. True knowledge of the Almighty is defined strictly by keeping His mitzvot. Yochanan identifies the mitzvah yeshanah (old commandment) received from the beginning as an active call to love one's brother, stating that hatred places a person in blinding darkness. Crucially, the section charts the arrival of the acharit ha'yamim (the last hour), unmasking the operations of Mashiach ha'Sheker (the False Messiah / Antichrist) and his deceptive agents who deny the unity of ha'Av and ha'Ben. The remnant is comforted by their mishchah (anointing) from the Kadosh, which gives them da'at (knowledge) to see through seduction.

3. The Transgression of the Torah and the Love of the Brethren (Chapter 3)

The book rises into a fierce code of set-apart living, contrasting the B’nei Elohim (sons of God) with the children of ha'Satan. The text explicitly equates sin with the destruction of the law (Torah), explaining that Ben ha'Elohim was manifested specifically to destroy the works of the devil. The internal zera (seed) of the righteous keeps them from walking in continuous transgression. This spiritual reality must manifest practically within the Kehillah: love cannot exist merely in word or tongue, but must be proven in deed and in Emet by throwing open one's rachamim (compassion) to a brother in physical need.

4. Testing the Spirits, Victory through Faith, and Fire Separation (Chapters 4–5) Uniquely combining thematic arcs that are profoundly likened to the book of Exodus and the book of Revelation, the text culminates in a sweeping strategic guide for spiritual warfare and final preservation. The assembly is commanded to test every ruach to discern between Ruach ha'Emet and the spirit of error sent by false prophets. Mirroring the historical liberation of Exodus and the apocalyptic triumph of Revelation, the narrative outlines how the assembly overcomes the corruption of the olam through an unyielding emunah (faith). This victory brings supreme boldness in the Yom ha'Din (Day of Judgment), allowing the remnant to preserve one another from sins that lead to 控制/mavet (death), maintaining an impenetrable boundary that completely separates the anointed line from elilim (idols) and the wickedness of a perishing world.

Glossary of Key Restored Terms

Igeret Yochanan Rishonah (The First Letter of John)

4

To grasp the authentic covenantal depth of Igeret Yochanan Rishonah within The Ivri Heritage Bible, the reader should understand the following key terms:  Devar ha'Chayyim: The Word of Life; the primordial, manifested reality of eternity that can be physically seen and handled.  Hitkhabrut: Fellowship or communion; the corporate bond of unity between the set-apart remnant, the Father, and the Son.  Meliytz / Kapparah: Advocate / Propitiation; the dual legal roles executed by Yeshua ha'Tzaddik to intercede for and cover the sins of the world.  Mitzvah Yeshanah / Mitzvah Chadashah: Old Commandment / New Commandment; the unchanging law of love and obedience established from the beginning, made newly vibrant as the darkness passes away.  Mashiach ha'Sheker: The False Messiah or Antichrist; the lawless, seducing entity that seeks to draw the little children into the lie by denying the Son.  Mishchah / Da'at: Anointing / Knowledge; the internal spiritual unction given by the Holy One that teaches the assembly all truth and guards them from deception.  Yom ha'Din / Elilim: The Day of Judgment and Idols; the final hour of absolute legal reckoning and the dead, deceptive images from which the little children must strictly guard themselves.

Through this restored, Hebraic, and pre-Masoretic lens, the text of "2nd Sefer (Book) of Meqabyan."' apostolic peer stands revealed not as an obscured, abstract work, but as the active, authoritative, and chronological blueprint for the preservation of our genuine heritage, the unmasking of wickedness, and the realization of righteousness under the unchanging clock of the Almighty.

The First Epistle of Yochanan - Chapter 1
1.0×
11. That which was from
the reshit (beginning), which we have
heard, which we have seen with our eyes,
which we have looked upon, and our hands
have handled, of the Devar
ha'Chayyim (Word of Life)—
22. (For the Chayyim (Life) was manifested,
and we have seen it, and bear witness, and
show unto you those Chayyei
Olam (Eternal Life) which was
with Ha'Av (the Father) and was manifested
unto us;)
33. That which we have seen and heard we
declare unto you, that you also may
have hitkhabrut (fellowship) with us; and
truly our hitkhabrut is with Ha'Av and
with Ben (His Son) Yeshua
ha'Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah).
44. And these things we write unto you, that
your simchah (joy) may be full.
55. This then is the message which we have
heard of Him, and declare unto you,
that Elohim (God) is Or (Light), and in Him
is no choshech (darkness) at all.
66. If we say that we have hitkhabrut with
Him, and walk in choshech , we speak
sheker (lie), and do not practice
the Emet (Truth).
77. But if we walk in the Or , as He is in

the Or , we have hitkhabrut one with
another, and the dam (blood) of Yeshua
ha'Mashiach His Son cleanses us from
all chet (sin).
88. If we say that we have no chet , we
deceive ourselves, and the Emet is not in us.
99. If we confess our chata’im (sins), He is
faithful and tzaddik (just) to forgive us
our chata’im , and to cleanse us from
all avon (unrighteousness).
1010. If we say that we have not sinned, we
make Him a liar, and His Devar (Word) is
not in us.

1 Igeret Yochanan (1 John)Chapter 2

Chapter 2
1.0×
11. My yeladim (little children), these things
I write unto you, that you sin not. And if any
man sin, we have a Meliytz (Advocate)
with ha'Av (the Father), Yeshua
ha'Mashiach ha'Tzaddik (Jesus the
Messiah the Righteous One);
22. And He is the Kapparah (propitiation)
for our chata’im (sins): and not for ours
only, but also for the sins of the
whole olam (world).
33. And hereby we do know that we know
Him, if we keep
His mitzvot (commandments).
44. He that says, “I know Him,” and keeps
not His mitzvot , is a liar, and
the Emet (Truth) is not in him.
55. But whoever keeps His Devar (Word), in
him verily is the Ahavat Elohim (love of
God) perfected: hereby know we that we are
in Him.
66. He that says he abides in Him ought
himself also so to walk, even as He walked.
77. Achim (Brethren), I write no mitzvah
chadashah (new commandment) unto you,
but a mitzvah yeshanah (old
commandment) which you had from
the reshit (beginning). The old
commandment is the Devar which you have
heard from the beginning.
88. Again, a mitzvah chadashah I write unto
you, which thing is true in Him and in you:
because the choshech (darkness) is passing
away, and the Or ha'Amiti (true Light) now
shineth.
99. He that says he is in the Or , and hates
his ach (brother), is in choshech even until
now.
1010. He that loves his ach abides in the Or ,
and there is no occasion
of michshol (stumbling) in him.
1111. But he that hates his ach is in choshech ,
and walks in choshech , and knows not
where he goes, because that choshech has
blinded his eyes.
1212. I write unto you, yeladim (little
children), because your chata’im are

forgiven you for His Shem 's (Name's)
sake.
1313. I write unto you, avot (fathers), because
you have known Him who is from
the reshit . I write unto
you, bachurim (young men), because you
have overcome ha'Ra (the Evil One). I
write unto you, yeladim , because you have
known ha'Av .
1414. I have written unto you, avot , because
you have known Him who is from
the reshit . I have written unto
you, bachurim , because you are strong, and
the Devar Elohim (Word of God) abides in
you, and you have overcome ha'Ra .
1515. Love not the olam , neither the things
that are in the olam . If any man love
the olam , the Ahavat ha'Av (love of the
Father) is not in him.
1616. For all that is in the olam , the ta’avat
ha'basar (lust of the flesh), and the ta’avat
ha'einayim (lust of the eyes), and
the ga'avat ha'chayyim (pride of life), is
not of ha'Av , but is of the olam .
1717. And the olam is passing away, and the
lust thereof: but he that does the Retzon
Elohim (will of God)
abides le'olam (forever).
1818. Yeladim , it is the acharit
ha'yamim (last hour). And as you have
heard that the Mashiach

ha'Sheker (Antichrist/Fale Messiah) shall
come, even now are there many meshichim
ha'sheker (antichrists); whereby we know
that it is the last hour.
1919. They went out from us, but they were
not of us; for if they had been of us, they
would no doubt have continued with us: but
they went out, that it might be made
manifest that they were not all of us.
2020. But you have a mishchah (anointing)
from the Kadosh (Holy One), and you
have da’at (knowledge) of all things.
2121. I have not written unto you because you
know not the Emet , but because you know
it, and that no lie is of the Emet .
2222. Who is a liar but he that denies
that Yeshua is the Mashiach ? He
is Mashiach ha'Sheker , that
denies ha'Av and ha'Ben (the Son).
2323. Whosoever denies ha'Ben , the same
has not ha'Av ; he that
acknowledges ha'Ben has ha'Av also.
2424. Let that therefore abide in you which
you have heard from the reshit . If that
which you have heard from the reshit shall
remain in you, you also shall continue
in ha'Ben and in ha'Av .
2525. And this is the havtachah (promise) that
He has promised us—even Chayyei
Olam (Eternal Life).
2626. These things have I written unto you
concerning them that seduce you.
2727. But the mishchah which you have
received of Him abides in you, and you need
not that any man teach you: but as the
same mishchah teaches you concerning all
things, and is Emet , and is no lie, and even
as it has taught you, you shall abide in Him.
2828. And now, yeladim , abide in Him; that,
when He shall appear, we may have
confidence, and not be ashamed before Him
at His coming.
2929. If you know that He
is Tzaddik (Righteous), you know that
everyone that does tzedakah (righteousness)
is born of Him.

1 Igeret Yochanan (1 John)Chapter 3

Chapter 3
1.0×
11. Behold, what manner
of Ahavah (love) ha'Av (the Father) has
bestowed upon us, that we should be
called B’nei Elohim (sons of God)!
Therefore the olam (world) knows us not,
because it knew Him not.
22. Ahuvim (Beloved), now are we B’nei
Elohim , and it does not yet appear what we
shall be: but we know that, when He shall
appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall
see Him as He is.
33. And every man that has
this tikvah (hope) in Him purifies himself,
even as He is tahor (pure).
44. Whosoever commits chet (sin)

transgresses also the Torah (Law):
for chet is the transgression of the Torah .
55. And you know that He was manifested to
take away our chata’im (sins); and in Him
is no chet .
66. Whosoever abides in Him sins not:
whosoever sins has not seen Him, neither
known Him.
77. Yeladim (Little children), let no man
deceive you: he that
does tzedakah (righteousness)
is tzaddik (righteous), even as He
is Tzaddik .
88. He that commits chet is of ha'Satan (the
devil); for the devil sins from
the reshit (beginning). For this purpose Ben
ha'Elohim (the Son of God) was
manifested, that He might destroy the works
of ha'Satan .
99. Whosoever is born of Elohim does not
commit chet ; for His zera (seed) remains in
him: and he cannot sin, because he is born
of Elohim .
1010. In this the B’nei Elohim are manifest,
and the children of ha'Satan : whosoever
does not tzedakah is not of Elohim , neither
he that loves not his ach (brother).
1111. For this is the message that you heard
from the reshit , that we should love one
another.
1212. Not as Kayin (Cain), who was

of ha'Ra (the Evil One), and slew his ach .
And why did he slay him? Because his own
works were evil, and his brother’s
were tzaddik .
1313. Marvel not, my achim (brethren), if
the olam hates you.
1414. We know that we have passed
from mavet (death) unto Chayyim (life),
because we love the achim . He that loves
not his ach abides in mavet .
1515. Whosoever hates his ach is a murderer:
and you know that no murderer has Chayyei
Olam (Eternal Life) abiding in him.
1616. Hereby we perceive the Ahavah ,
because He laid down His nefesh (life/soul)
for us: and we ought to lay down our lives
for the achim .
1717. But whoso has this world’s good, and
sees his ach have need, and shuts up
his rachamim (compassion) from him, how
dwells the Ahavat Elohim (love of God) in
him?
1818. My yeladim , let us not love in word,
neither in tongue; but in deed and
in Emet (Truth).
1919. And hereby we know that we are of
the Emet , and shall assure our hearts before
Him.
2020. For if our heart condemn us, Elohim is
greater than our heart, and knows all things.
2121. Beloved, if our heart condemns us not,
then have we confidence toward Elohim .
2222. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of
Him, because we keep His mitzvot , and do
those things that are pleasing in His sight.
2323. And this is His mitzvah : that we should
believe on the Shem (Name) of
His Ben , Yeshua ha'Mashiach (Jesus the
Messiah), and love one another, as He gave
us mitzvah .
2424. And he that keeps His mitzvot dwells in
Him, and He in him. And hereby we know
that He abides in us, by the Ruach (Spirit)
which He has given us.

1 Igeret Yochanan (1 John)Chapter 4

Chapter 4
1.0×
11. Ahuvim (Beloved), believe not
every ruach (spirit), but test
the ruchim (spirits) whether they are
of Elohim : because many nevi’im
sheker (false prophets) are gone out into
the olam (world).
22. Hereby know you the Ruach
Elohim (Spirit of God): Every ruach that
confesses that Yeshua ha'Mashiach (Jesus
Christ) is come in the basar (flesh) is
of Elohim :
33. And every ruach that confesses not
that Yeshua ha'Mashiach is come in
the basar is not of Elohim : and this is that
spirit of Mashiach ha'Sheker (Antichrist),

whereof you have heard that it should come;
and even now already is it in the olam .
44. You are of Elohim , yeladim (little
children), and have overcome them: because
greater is He that is in you, than he that is in
the olam .
55. They are of the olam : therefore they
speak of the olam , and the olam hears
them.
66. We are of Elohim : he that
knows Elohim hears us; he that is not
of Elohim hears not us. Hereby we know
the Ruach ha'Emet (spirit of truth) and
the ruach ha'ta’ut (spirit of error).
77. Ahuvim , let us love one another:
for Ahavah (love) is of Elohim ; and
everyone that loves is born of Elohim and
knows Elohim .
88. He that loves not knows not Elohim ;
for Elohim is Ahavah .
99. In this was manifested the Ahavat
Elohim (love of God) toward us, because
that Elohim sent His only
begotten Ben (Son) into the olam , that we
might live through Him.
1010. Herein is Ahavah , not that we
loved Elohim , but that He loved us, and
sent His Ben to be
the Kapparah (propitiation) for
our chata’im (sins).
1111. Ahuvim , if Elohim so loved us, we
ought also to love one another.
1212. No man has seen Elohim at any time. If
we love one another, Elohim dwells in us,
and His Ahavah is perfected in us.
1313. Hereby we know that we dwell in Him,
and He in us, because He has given us of
His Ruach (Spirit).
1414. And we have seen and do testify
that ha'Av (the Father) sent ha'Ben to be
the Moshe’a (Savior) of the olam .
1515. Whosoever shall confess that Yeshua is
the Ben Elohim (Son of
God), Elohim dwells in him, and he
in Elohim .
1616. And we have known and believed
the Ahavah that Elohim has to
us. Elohim is Ahavah ; and he that dwells
in love dwells in Elohim , and Elohim in
him.
1717. Herein is our Ahavah made perfect, that
we may have boldness in the Yom
ha'Din (Day of Judgment): because as He
is, so are we in this olam .
1818. There is no pachad (fear) in Ahavah ;
but perfect Ahavah casts out pachad :
because pachad has torment. He that fears is
not made perfect in Ahavah .
1919. We love Him, because He first loved us. 2020. If a man says, “I love Elohim ,” and
hates his ach (brother), he is a liar: for he

that loves not his ach whom he has seen,
how can he love Elohim whom he has not
seen?
2121. And this mitzvah (commandment) have
we from Him: that he who
loves Elohim love his ach also.

1 Igeret Yochanan (1 John)Chapter 5

Chapter 5
1.0×
11. Whosoever believes that Yeshua is
the Mashiach (Christ) is born of Elohim:
and everyone that loves Him that begat
loves him also that is begotten of Him.
22. By this we know that we love the yeledey
Elohim (children of God), when we
love Elohim , and keep
His mitzvot (commandments).
33. For this is the Ahavat Elohim (love of
God), that we keep His mitzvot : and
His mitzvot are not grievous.
44. For whatsoever is born
of Elohim overcomes the olam (world): and
this is the nitzachon (victory) that
overcomes the olam , even
our emunah (faith).
55. Who is he that overcomes the olam , but
he that believes that Yeshua is the Ben
Elohim (Son of God)?
66. This is He that came by mayim (water)
and dam (blood), even Yeshua
ha'Mashiach ; not by mayim only, but
by mayim and dam . And it is

the Ruach (Spirit) that bears witness,
because the Ruach is Emet (Truth).
77. For there are three that bear record
in Shamayim (heaven): ha'Av (the
Father), ha'Devar (the Word), and Ruach
ha'Kodesh (the Holy Spirit): and these three
are echad (one).
88. And there are three that bear witness in
the aretz (earth): the Ruach , the mayim ,
and the dam : and these three agree
in echad .
99. If we receive the witness of men, the
witness of Elohim is greater: for this is the
witness of Elohim which He has testified of
His Ben .
1010. He that believes on the Ben Elohim has
the witness in himself: he that believes
not Elohim has made Him a liar; because he
believes not the edut (record)
that Elohim gave of His Ben .
1111. And this is the edut : that Elohim has
given to us Chayyei Olam (Eternal Life),
and this Chayyim is in His Ben .
1212. He that has the Ben has the Chayyim ;
and he that has not the Ben Elohim has
not Chayyim .
1313. These things have I written unto you that
believe on the Shem (Name) of the Ben
Elohim; that you may know that you
have Chayyei Olam , and that you may
believe on the Shem of the Ben Elohim .
1414. And this is the confidence that we have
in Him, that, if we ask anything according to
His ratzon (will), He hears us:
1515. And if we know that He hears us,
whatsoever we ask, we know that we have
the petitions that we desired of Him.
1616. If any man see his ach (brother) sin a sin
which is not unto mavet (death), he shall
ask, and He shall give him life for them that
sin not unto mavet . There is a sin
unto mavet : I do not say that he shall pray
for it.
1717. All avon (unrighteousness) is chet (sin):
and there is a sin not unto mavet .
1818. We know that whosoever is born
of Elohim sins not; but he that is begotten
of Elohim keeps himself, and ha'Ra (the
Wicked One) touches him not.
1919. And we know that we are of Elohim ,
and the whole olam lies in wickedness.
2020. And we know that the Ben Elohim is
come, and has given us an understanding,
that we may know Him who
is Amiti (True), and we are in Him who
is Amiti , even in His Ben Yeshua
ha'Mashiach . This is the true Elohim ,
and Chayyei Olam .
2121. Yeladim (Little children), keep
yourselves from elilim (idols). Amen .
