1.0×
1In the second year of Daryavesh (Darius) the melech (king), in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the davar Yahuah (word of the Lord) came by the hand of the navi (prophet) Chaggai, saying, Speak to Zerubbavel the son of She'altiel, of the shevet (tribe) of Yehudah, and to Yeshua the son of Yehozadak, the Kohen HaGadol (high priest), saying, 2Thus saith Yahuah Tzeva'ot, saying, This am (people) say, The time is not come to build the Beit Yahuah (house of the Lord). 3And the davar Yahuah (word of the Lord) came by the hand of the navi (prophet) Chaggai, saying, 4Is it time for you to dwell in your ceiled houses, whereas our Beit (house) is desolate? 5And now thus saith Yahuah Tzeva'ot; Consider your ways, I pray you. 6You have sown much, but brought in little; you have eaten, and are not satisfied; you have drunk, and are not satisfied with drink, you have clothed yourselves, and have not become warm thereby: and he that earns wages has gathered them into a bag full of holes. 7Thus saith Yahuah Tzeva'ot; Consider your ways. 8Go up to the mountain, and cut timber; build the Beit (house), and I will take pleasure in it, and be glorified, saith Yahuah. 9You looked for much, and there came little; and it was brought into the house, and I blew it away. Therefore thus saith Yahuah Tzeva'ot, Because My Beit (house) is desolate, and you run every one into his own house; 10therefore shall the sky withhold tal (dew), and the aretz (earth) shall keep back her produce. 11And I will bring a cherev (sword) upon the aretz (land), and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the wine, and upon the oil, and all that the aretz (earth) produces, and upon the men, and upon the cattle, and upon all the labours of their hands. 12And Zerubbavel the son of She'altiel, of the shevet (tribe) of Yehudah, and Yeshua the son of Yehozadak, the Kohen HaGadol (high priest), and all the she'erit (remnant) of the am (people), listened to the voice of Yahuah their Elohim, and the words of the navi (prophet) Chaggai, according as Yahuah their Elohim had sent him to them, and the am (people) feared before Yahuah. 13And Chaggai, Yahuah's malach (messenger), spoke among the malachim (messengers) of Yahuah to the am (people), saying, I am with you, saith Yahuah. 14And Yahuah stirred up the ruach (spirit) of Zerubbavel the son of She'altiel, of the shevet (tribe) of Yehudah, and the ruach (spirit) of Yeshua the son of Yehozadak, the Kohen HaGadol (high priest), and the ruach (spirit) of the she'erit (remnant) of all the am (people); and they went in, and wrought in the Beit Yahuah (house of the Lord) Tzeva'ot their Elohim, 15on the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Daryavesh (Darius) the melech (king).
